Thorold, Ontario – Police have closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 after a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck near Niagara Falls. The collision occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that an Ornge air ambulance was dispatched to the scene to assist with transporting injured individuals. The severity of injuries has led authorities to anticipate an extended closure of the highway.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 58 is currently blocked at Pine Street and Thorold Stone Road. The westbound lanes are also closed at Taylor Road. Police advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes to prevent further delays.

As of 6 p.m., the highway has reopened to westbound traffic, but the eastbound lanes remain closed to through traffic at Davis Road. Officers from the Niagara OPP are on scene assessing the situation and managing traffic flow while investigations continue.
