Aniston Shocked to Learn Witherspoon’s Real Name After Decades of Friendship

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jennifer Aniston was surprised to discover that her longtime friend and colleague, Reese Witherspoon, isn’t actually named Reese. During a recent interview segment for LADbible, the two co-stars from “The Morning Show” engaged in a fun game called “Do You Even Know Me?” that led Aniston to an unexpected revelation.
In the lively discussion, Witherspoon, 49, posed a question to Aniston about her real middle name, providing three options: Jane, Jeanne, or Joan. When Aniston guessed incorrectly, Witherspoon revealed, “It’s Jeanne. That’s confusing. I’m Laura Jeanne.” Aniston’s shocked reaction was clear as she exclaimed, “Who’s Laura? Who the hell’s Laura? Wait, Laura Jeanne? I’m not calling you that from now on!”
Aniston, 56, continued to process the news humorously, asking, “Where did Reese come from?” Witherspoon explained that “Reese” is actually her middle name, and that her full name is Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon. The two laughed at the confusion, with Aniston playfully trying to come to terms with her friend’s true identity.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. Aniston also revealed that her middle name is Joanna, leading Witherspoon to quip, “Jennifer Joanna? Does anybody call you J.J.? Well, I do now.” This light-hearted exchange showcased the close bond that the actresses have developed over their years of friendship.
Their friendship dates back to 2000 when Witherspoon guest-starred as Jill Greene, Rachel Green’s sister, on the iconic sitcom “Friends,” where Aniston played Rachel. Since then, they have maintained a strong relationship, even reuniting on-screen in 2019 for the acclaimed series “The Morning Show,” currently in its fourth season.
The joy of discovering new things about each other, even after 25 years, highlighted the charm of their friendship. Fans can expect to see more of their camaraderie when new episodes of “The Morning Show” drop on Apple TV+ on Wednesdays.
