Dua Lipa Enjoys Lobster Roll in Boston Amid Concert Tour
BOSTON, Mass. — Dua Lipa delighted fans last week during her performances at TD Garden, but she also took time to indulge in local cuisine. The pop star visited Neptune Oyster, where she savored a lobster roll so much that she returned twice in one week.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Lipa praised the restaurant, calling it a must-visit spot in the city. “So good I went twice this week,” she wrote. Known for its fresh seafood, Neptune Oyster does not take reservations, leading to long lines of excited customers.
Lipa also enjoyed drinks described as ‘perfect tini’s’ at another establishment on Commercial Street, highlighting her fondness for the local dining scene.
Following her concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday, which were part of her “Radical Optimism” tour, Lipa shared concert highlights. These included a photo taken in front of the Boston Celtics logo and a video of her signing a lucky fan’s forehead, who held a sign saying, ‘DUA LIPA! SIGN MY FOREHEAD.’
Meanwhile, in Boston’s political scene, city officials prepared for recounts in the mayoral race and District 7 City Council election. The recounts were initiated by candidates who finished in third place and gathered signatures to prompt a reevaluation of the votes.
In the council race, candidate Afonso sought a recount after trailing the second-place candidate by a mere 20 votes. Afonso stated, “With so much at stake for District 7, voters deserve certainty that every ballot was counted correctly.”
In the mayoral race, incumbent Michelle Wu finished first by a substantial margin. She received 66,398 votes while her main opponent, who has since withdrawn, garnered only 2,409 votes. If this trend continues, Wu may be the only candidate on the November ballot, an unprecedented situation.
Recounts for both races are set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Boston Election Department. Election officials have indicated that the outcomes could significantly impact the upcoming general elections.
In southern Pennsylvania, a tragic shooting unfolded Wednesday when a gunman shot three officers, resulting in their deaths and injuring two others. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Matthew James Ruth, who was actively being pursued on stalking charges before the outbreak of violence.
The events in York County shocked the community, prompting expressions of grief and calls for action from officials like Governor Josh Shapiro, who emphasized the need to address gun violence. The confrontation again underscores the challenges faced by those in law enforcement.
Investigations into both incidents continue to unfold, as communities process the effects of recent events.
