Amelia was last seen on September 19 in Manchester, where officials believed she was with her father, Ricardo Santiago. The two were traveling in a gray 2015 Jeep Patriot, which was part of the initial alert issued by law enforcement.

Details surrounding the recovery have not been disclosed, but authorities confirmed that Amelia is now safe. The East Hartford Police Department had issued the Amber Alert at 1:22 p.m. on Saturday, urging the public to call 911 if anyone spotted the vehicle or the individuals involved.

Prior to the cancellation, police described Ricardo Santiago as a white male, bald with brown eyes, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. Amelia Santiago was described as a white female with blonde hair and brown eyes, standing 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 120 pounds.

Community members were relieved to hear the news of Amelia’s safe return, as many had been actively sharing the alert and keeping a lookout for the pair. Law enforcement departments often rely on public vigilance in such cases to facilitate quick recoveries.

The situation serves as a reminder of the importance of Amber Alerts in locating missing children quickly and efficiently.
