Braxton Berrios Serving Meals At School

HOUSTON, Texas — In an uplifting event, students and families at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School received a surprise visit from Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios. On September 29, 2025, he partnered with the Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão and the nonprofit No Kid Hungry to serve over 1,300 meals to the school community.

This marked Berrios’ first community initiative since joining the Houston NFL team. Alongside Fogo’s gauchos, he helped serve signature churrasco meals, delighting families from the northwest Houston area.

Berrios expressed his appreciation for the opportunity, stating, “It’s really cool to be in a position of influence, and I really try to do as much as I can to give back. Houston has been amazing and welcomed me with open arms, so this is about giving back to the community that has given so much to me.” Students and members of the football team enjoyed discussing their experiences with the athlete.

The initiative also highlighted Fogo de Chão’s partnership with No Kid Hungry, which runs a campaign through September 30, 2025. For every $5 donated, supporters help provide 50 meals to children in need and receive a $25 dining card for future visits.

Eisenhower Principal James Metcalf praised the event, saying, “The event was a complete success, and we’re so grateful to Fogo De Chão for making it happen!” Community leaders, including Superintendent Dr. LaTonya Goffney, joined the festivities, making it a true celebration.

Barry McGowan, CEO of Fogo de Chão, noted, “Braxton brings fresh momentum to our mission of reaching kids who need it most. Good, nutritious food strengthens communities, and together with No Kid Hungry, we have been fighting childhood hunger for a decade.” The collaboration showcased a strong commitment to nourishing the local community, leaving a lasting impact on Eisenhower High School and the surrounding Acres Homes area.
