Peaky Blinders Returns with New TV Seasons Following Upcoming Film
BIRMINGHAM, England — The beloved series Peaky Blinders will return for two new television seasons following its upcoming feature film. Creator Steven Knight announced the continuation of the Shelby family saga, set to begin in 1953 after World War II.
The sixth season, which aired in 2022, was touted as the conclusion of an ‘epic story.’ However, producers hinted the tale would unfold in subsequent forms. Knight revealed that the new seasons will be firmly rooted in Birmingham, showcasing the city’s recovery from the war.
‘The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride,’ Knight stated. The BBC announced that the series will cover the gritty competition for Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project during the city’s transformation.
Murphy, who plays gang leader Tommy Shelby, will return as an executive producer. Details about the cast and whether previous characters will join the new iterations remain unclear. The eighth and seventh seasons, produced in collaboration with Kudos and Garrison Drama, will both consist of six episodes.

Filming for the new series will take place at Knight’s Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, with a release on BBC One in the UK and making its way to Netflix globally.
