Dak Prescott Leads Cowboys Over Jets with George Pickens Touchdown
East Rutherford, New Jersey – In a commanding performance, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott connected with George Pickens for a 43-yard touchdown in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, solidifying the Cowboys’ lead at 30-3.
Prescott’s touchdown pass to Pickens marked his third touchdown of the game, preceding a Jets field goal that cut the Cowboys’ lead to 30-6. Prescott finished the day with 13 completions on 22 attempts for 207 yards and included tight end Jake Ferguson in the scoring, who caught two touchdowns.
Despite their struggles this season, the Cowboys’ defense shone brightly, recording five sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields. The Jets fell to 0-5, continuing their winless streak as they faced consistent pressure from the Dallas defense.
Pickens had previously struggled to make an impact, registering only one catch before his crucial touchdown. His presence on the field proved vital in opening opportunities for fellow receivers, enabling a more dynamic Cowboys offense.
“George made a significant catch at a critical moment,” said Prescott after the game. “The whole team stepped up defensively, making it easier for the offense to get into a rhythm.”
The Cowboys’ offensive display showcased a powerful run game, with running back Ryan Flournoy contributing significantly. His impressive 66-yard rush set up Ferguson’s first touchdown, demonstrating the Cowboys’ capability to execute plays effectively.
While the Cowboys celebrated their success, the Jets reflected on another disappointing outing. Coach Aaron Glenn acknowledged the team’s efforts but noted the need for greater discipline to avoid costly mistakes. “We have to clean up our act and focus on the small details,” he stated.
The Cowboys improved their record to 2-2-1 with this victory, while the Jets look to regroup as they prepare for their next challenge.
