Los Angeles, CA — ESPN has secured multi-year agreements with prominent NHL commentators including Bob Wischusen, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, P.K. Subban, Kevin Weekes, and Leah Hextall, just before the start of the 2025-26 NHL season. These re-signings ensure a veteran lineup focused on in-depth analysis and play-by-play coverage.

Bob Wischusen, who joined ESPN in 2005, has been a lead play-by-play voice for NHL since 2021. He is also well-known for his work in college football and golf. Hailing from New Jersey, Wischusen also serves as the radio voice for the NFL’s New York Jets.

Cassie Campbell-Pascall, a four-time Olympic medalist and eight-time IIHF World Champion, will continue her analyst role with ESPN after starting in 2021. She broke barriers in 2006 as the first woman color commentator for Hockey Night in Canada and now advises the PWHL.

P.K. Subban, a Norris Trophy winner and three-time NHL All-Star, will return for ABC Hockey Saturday studio coverage starting in January. A respected figure both on and off the ice, Subban is involved in youth hockey initiatives in North America.

Kevin Weekes, the first Black analyst in professional ice hockey, will maintain his role as a game and studio analyst at ESPN. With an impressive track record, he advocates for the sport while blending insight with engaging personality.

Leah Hextall, in her fifth season at ESPN, returns as a reporter. Known for being the first woman to call play-by-play for a nationally televised NHL game in 2020, she brings a pioneering spirit and experience to her role.

This season, ESPN welcomes T.J. Oshie, a Stanley Cup champion, as a studio and game analyst. Oshie, known for his impressive NHL career and clutch performances, will provide unique insights from his playing days.

Additionally, veteran coach John Tortorella rejoins ESPN’s studio coverage, bringing candor and deep analysis from his 23 years of NHL coaching experience. Tortorella led the Tampa Bay Lightning to a Stanley Cup title in the 2003-04 season.

The NHL’s 2025-26 season kicks off on October 7 with a tripleheader on ESPN. The opening night features the Florida Panthers hosting the Chicago Blackhawks, followed by matchups between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers, and the Colorado Avalanche taking on the Los Angeles Kings.

ESPN’s coverage aims to provide comprehensive and engaging broadcasts across its platforms, making the full suite of content accessible through the ESPN App.
