Sreenath Bhasi Police Questioning

Police in Kochi have questioned actor Sreenath Bhasi in connection with a drug-related case. The questioning, which began in the morning, stretched into the evening. This inquiry is linked to a drug party reportedly organized by gangster leader Omprakash at a five-star hotel in Kochi. Alongside Bhasi, actress Prayaga Martin has also been summoned for questioning by the Maradu police, following the emergence of CCTV footage from the hotel.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the police also questioned four other individuals. These include Thammanam Faisal, who had contacted Omprakash by phone, Aloshi Peter from Brahmapuram, his wife Sneha, and Paul Jose from Angamaly. The individuals are reportedly linked to Binu Joseph from Elamakkara, who facilitated the attendance of guests at the hotel party. The investigation has so far identified details of 14 other participants, who will soon receive notices.

Binu Joseph, identified as the person who escorted guests to the party, has been arrested and released on bail. He is known to be an associate of Bhai Naseer, a noted gangster. According to police, Joseph used this connection to build a relationship with Omprakash, and he is alleged to have procured drugs for the party.

The police have confirmed that drugs found in the hotel’s room were indeed narcotics. During the investigation, ziplock bags with traces of drugs and liquor bottles were found. Further examination of the hotel’s surveillance footage from lifts, the reception, and corridors is underway. More comprehensive questioning awaits the results of phone call analyses and scientific tests.

In an update, actress Prayaga Martin also reported to the Ernakulam South Police Station for questioning, shortly after Sreenath Bhasi’s session concluded. Bhasi reportedly told police he had no prior acquaintance with Omprakash and attended the hotel with Binu Joseph, with whom he had financial dealings.

The remand report concerning Omprakash, issued in connection with the drug smuggling case, mentions the names of the actors Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin. The police believe the drug party at the hotel was organized by Omprakash’s friends, introduced to the actors by Binu Joseph. Reports indicate that approximately 20 other individuals are referenced in the remand document, who will also be questioned as part of the investigation. The police continue to pursue potential arrests and have secured CCTV footage from the hotel. Omprakash’s mobile phone is slated for forensic examination.
