WASHINGTON, D.C. – Members of the U.S. Air Force’s 11th Security Forces Squadron from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling attended a security Frontline Forum at Nationals Park on August 13, 2025. The event featured a tour of the stadium and its security command center.

The Frontline Forum allowed the security forces members to see how Nationals Park ensures the safety of over 40,000 attendees during events. They received a briefing on the stadium’s security plan, including drone detection systems and communication strategies with the Metropolitan Police Department‘s counter-sniper team.

During the tour, members explored various stadium sections and learned about the history of the Nationals team. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jennifer Warmer expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “As someone who has a degree in history and enjoys baseball, getting the behind-the-scenes tour has been the highlight of the week.”

After the security briefing, each member had the opportunity to throw pitches in the Nationals’ bullpen. Airman 1st Class Joseph Conner described his experience as enjoyable: “My favorite part of the tour was definitely throwing baseballs in the Nationals Bullpen and realizing how challenging it is to be a pitcher.”

This event showcased the common goals of the Nationals and the 11th SFS in prioritizing teamwork, vigilance, and community engagement.
