Amy Pascal And David Heyman Producing James Bond Film

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Amazon MGM Studios has officially appointed producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman to helm the next James Bond film, marking a historical moment as this is the first time the franchise will be produced by outsiders to the legendary Broccoli family.

The announcement was made on March 25, 2025, revealing that Pascal will produce through Pascal Pictures while Heyman will do so via Heyday Films. The decision follows Amazon MGM’s acquisition of creative control over the Bond franchise from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who have been pivotal in producing the series since the 1960s.

“We are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully steered, with the greatest sense of responsibility,” said Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Film. “Part of an elite group of producers who have developed and managed massive film franchises to box office success and critical acclaim, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, experienced, and respected film producers in our industry.”

In a joint statement, Pascal and Heyman acknowledged the legacy of the Bond franchise, stating, “James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who made so many extraordinary films and are excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”

Pascal is well-known for her work on the Spider-Man franchise, which has grossed over $3 billion globally. Her production credits also include critically acclaimed projects like “Challengers” and “Little Women.” In contrast, Heyman has a robust portfolio featuring the Harry Potter series and the spin-off “Fantastic Beasts,” among others.

While the immediate focus is on the upcoming Bond film, it remains unclear whether Pascal and Heyman will continue with subsequent titles. However, the buzz around their involvement has generated excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.

Amazon’s recent acquisition of rights comes after years of tension with the Broccoli family, which led to stalling on future Bond projects following Daniel Craig’s swan song as 007 in “No Time to Die.” Development on the next film had faced challenges, with casting decisions and direction in flux.

A spokesperson for Amazon MGM declined to comment on the deal’s specifics. Reports suggest that Pascal and Heyman’s formerly deeper ties with the Bond franchise during their respective tenures at Sony and Warner Bros. played a pivotal role in their selection.

As both producers gear up for the film, the entertainment industry will be closely watching to see how they reimagine the iconic spy series while capturing the essence that has made Bond a cinematic staple.
