Apple Rumored to Launch iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11 in January 2025

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch the iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11 as early as January 2025, according to leaks from a reliable source. The devices, codenamed “V59” and “J481,” are expected to debut alongside iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 updates, marking a significant shift from Apple’s traditional spring release schedule for its budget iPhone lineup.

Historically, iPhone SE models have been announced in March or April, but a January release would align with Apple’s efforts to comply with European Union regulations requiring USB-C ports on all new devices. The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, and a 48-megapixel rear camera, along with an upgraded A-series chip and 8GB of RAM. The device is expected to adopt a design similar to the iPhone 14, ditching the Touch ID button and thick bezels of its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the iPad 11 is anticipated to receive a performance boost with a newer A-series chip and 8GB of RAM, though no major design changes are expected. Apple last updated its entry-level iPad in October 2022.

Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has corroborated some of these details, though he recently dismissed claims of an imminent iPhone SE 4 launch as “completely untrue.” Despite this, the tech community remains abuzz with speculation, especially given Apple’s history of adhering to its .3 update schedule in January.

In addition to the iPhone SE 4 and iPad 11, Apple is rumored to be working on new MacBook Air models powered by the M4 chip, which could also debut in early 2025.
