CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple announced today the release of the new 14-inch MacBook Pro featuring the advanced M5 chip, which promises up to 3.5 times faster performance for artificial intelligence (AI) workflows, exceptional battery life, and improved graphics capabilities.

The M5 chip includes a next-generation GPU equipped with Neural Accelerators in each core, vastly enhancing AI productivity and offering significant improvements in graphics performance. This new model boasts a faster and more efficient CPU, enhanced Neural Engine, and higher memory bandwidth, which speeds up tasks from launching applications to running large language models (LLMs) on the device.

“The MacBook Pro continues to be the world’s best pro laptop, and today, the 14-inch MacBook Pro gets even better with the arrival of the M5 chip,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. He added that the M5 chip represents a huge leap in AI for the Mac.

The new 14-inch model features a long-lasting battery capable of up to 24 hours on a single charge, allowing users to maintain productivity throughout the day. It also incorporates faster SSD performance, making it easier for professionals to manage large files and media projects.

The MacBook Pro comes with a stunning Liquid Retina XDR display, a 12MP Center Stage camera, an advanced six-speaker sound system, and ample port options, along with the potent macOS Tahoe operating system. The M5 chip and its features are aimed at a wide range of users — from students to creatives and business professionals.

With a starting price of $1,599, the new MacBook Pro is available in space black and silver. Pre-orders start today, with shipping beginning on October 22.
