Battlefield Studios Announces Major Updates Ahead of Season 1 Launch
REDWOOD CITY, California – Battlefield Studios has detailed significant updates for Battlefield 6 ahead of the anticipated launch of Season 1 on October 28, 2025. The developer’s immediate goals include enhancing game performance and combat experiences.
In a recent announcement, Battlefield Studios acknowledged player feedback and stated it plans to adjust weapon dispersion, balance, visibility, aim assist, and progression. The updates will be rolled out during Season 1.
One of the current changes focuses on Custom Search, aiming to improve matchmaking accuracy based on players’ map and mode preferences. As the developers noted, while some players may experience longer wait times for specific selections, they are committed to monitoring and refining Custom Search performance.
Additionally, a fix for vehicle spawning issues has been implemented to enhance gameplay. “The fix has significantly reduced occurrences of vehicle spawning failures, helping balance issues on certain map/mode combinations,” Battlefield Studios explained.
The update also tackles player movement. Planned changes will aim for a smoother experience while maintaining the game’s original pace. A spokesperson for the studio mentioned, “We’re enhancing sight stability to minimize reticle movement during animations.”
On the progression front, Battlefield Studios reported progress towards smoother XP experiences, especially in the Escalation and King of the Hill modes. The studio intends to increase XP payouts in these modes to align better with other experiences in the game.
The visibility adjustments seek to address issues with brightness and exposure in various environments, working to improve player experience overall. For instance, players reported being blinded when looking outdoors or failing to see properly in darker interiors.
Upcoming changes in Season 1 will include weapon dispersion tweaks meant to ensure accuracy better reflects each weapon’s intended performance over distances. Battlefield Studios is also focusing on refining how weapon accuracy behaves, making shots feel more consistent and rewarding.
Furthermore, with Battlefield Labs entering a temporary hiatus, Battlefield Studios is concentrating on rolling out Season 1 content. However, the studio assured players that it will incorporate feedback from Battlefield Labs into the ongoing development, particularly concerning the upcoming battle royale mode.
As the countdown to Season 1 continues, players anticipate fresh content and improvements designed to enhance their gameplay experience.
