FC Bayern Denied Title After Draw with RB Leipzig

Leipzig, Germany – The FC Bayern Munich title race faced a setback on Saturday as they drew 3-3 with RB Leipzig, missing their first opportunity to secure the championship.
After falling behind 0-2, Bayern mounted a comeback, taking a 3-2 lead until Yussuf Poulsen scored a last-minute equalizer (90+4 minutes), forcing Bayern to delay their celebration of what would have been their 34th championship.
Sebastian Sesko opened the scoring for Leipzig in the 11th minute, followed by a goal from Lukas Klostermann in the 39th minute. Bayern responded in the second half with goals from Tyler Dier (62nd minute), Michael Olise (63rd minute), and Leroy Sané (83rd minute). But Poulsen’s late goal brought the game to a draw.
Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, expressed disappointment in the team’s missed chance to secure the title but acknowledged their lead over second-place Bayer Leverkusen, which is now nine points. Kompany stated, “We had the game in hand, but we need to finish strong to avoid any last-minute surprises.”
In other matches, VfB Stuttgart edged St. Pauli with a 1-0 victory thanks to a late goal from Woltemade in the 88th minute. Union Berlin and Werder Bremen played to a 2-2 draw, while Borussia Mönchengladbach and TSG Hoffenheim fought through a thrilling 4-4 encounter.
Bayern now prepares for their next match, where a win could seal the title depending on Leverkusen’s performance. Meanwhile, St. Pauli and Hoffenheim find themselves still battling relegation with only a five-point cushion above the relegation zone.
