Bayern Munich Frauen Bundesliga Match Highlights

HEIDELBERG, Germany – Bayern Munich continued its perfect start to the Frauen-Bundesliga with a 5-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim on the second matchday. The victory marked the team’s second win in as many games this season, with Bayern yet to concede a goal.

The headline of the match was Lena Oberdorf, who shined on her first league start after recovering from a serious injury. Oberdorf, who joined Bayern a year ago, opened the scoring with a perfectly executed header from Klara Bühl’s corner-kick shortly before halftime. She added another goal with a stunning shot from outside the box.

In addition to Oberdorf’s contributions, center-back Vanessa Gilles scored her second goal in as many league matches, also assisted by Bühl’s set-piece.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt faced a challenging away match against Hoffenheim, where they lost 3-0 before their critical return leg against Real Madrid on Thursday. Despite being the stronger side in the first half, Frankfurt squandered multiple scoring opportunities, allowing Selina Cerci to net two goals for Hoffenheim in the second half. Linda Natter capped off the game with an injury-time goal, sealing the three points for Hoffenheim.

Wolfsburg secured a late 3-1 victory against Carl Zeiss Jena, with two goals coming in the final ten minutes to avoid dropping points. Janina Minge and Lineth Beerensteyn, a Dutch international, have both contributed goals in each of their first two matches this season.

Additionally, Bayer Leverkusen clinched their first points of the season by edging out Union Berlin 3-2 in a match filled with late drama.

The matchday also featured a remarkable performance from Montenegro international Medina Dešić, who scored the first hat-trick of the season in Werder Bremen’s 4-1 victory over her former club, Nürnberg.

With Hamburg remaining unbeaten after a goalless draw against Essen, this matchday offered a mix of thrilling outcomes and standout individual performances.

Matchday two commenced with SC Freiburg‘s narrow 1-0 victory over Köln, thanks to Svenja Fölmli’s goal derived from a free-kick.
