Beloved Melbourne Teacher Remembered After Tragic Accident at School
Paul Hogan, a beloved teacher in Melbourne for over three decades, was tragically remembered after a fatal accident at St. Margaret Mary’s School in Spotswood.
The incident, which occurred last week, saw Hogan fall through a skylight while retrieving balls from the school roof.
WorkSafe Victoria confirmed the accident, stating that Hogan was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and later passed away.
Dr. Edward Simons, the executive director of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, expressed deep sadness over Hogan’s passing, describing him as a highly respected leader in the Catholic school system.
St. Therese’s School in Essendon, where Hogan served as a former principal, also shared their condolences along with the wider community.
Reflecting on Hogan’s extensive career, which included roles at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Sunbury and St. Mary’s Primary School in Ascot Vale, Dr. Simons emphasized Hogan’s mentorship and positive impact on many within the Catholic school network.
Local Government Minister Melissa Horne paid tribute to Hogan on social media, offering heartfelt condolences to St. Margaret Mary’s Primary School in Spotswood.
Following the tragic incident, Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Newport extended their sympathies to St. Margaret Mary’s and all those affected by Hogan’s passing.
