Biden Mistakenly Refers to Zelenskyy as President Putin During NATO Summit

During the NATO summit in Washington DC, US President Joe Biden made a notable gaffe by erroneously referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin,” the Russian leader waging war against Ukraine.

Biden quickly corrected himself after the slip-up, jokingly blaming his mistake on being overly focused on countering Vladimir Putin‘s actions in the region.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a light-hearted response, quipped to Biden, “I’m better than Putin,” to which Biden replied, “You are a hell of a lot better.”

The incident has stirred speculation regarding Biden’s mental acuity and his ability to lead in the upcoming US presidential election, with calls for his withdrawal in favor of a younger candidate intensifying, especially from his own allies.

Former President Donald Trump wasted no time capitalizing on the blunder, using it as fodder for mockery and questioning Biden’s suitability for office.

Upon landing in County Clare, Ireland, Zelenskyy met with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris, expressing gratitude for Ireland’s support of Ukrainian refugees and their solidarity since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

Zelenskyy is set to participate in the European Political Community meeting next week, where he aims to bolster alliances with Western nations amid the ongoing Russian aggression and devastation wreaked upon Ukraine.
