The Tamil Nadu Election Results for 2024 are currently being tabulated, showcasing a three-way competition between the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.

The recent trends reveal that earlier DMK was leading in 38 out of the 39 constituencies in the state. Meanwhile, BJP’s opposition leader K Annamalai finds himself trailing in the Coimbatore constituency.

In a tight race, the key contenders in Coimbatore include AIADMK leader Singai Ramachandran and DMK leader Ganapathy P Rajkumar. Annamalai, who recently resigned from his IPS officer position to engage in politics, has proposed shifting the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) offices, as well as establishing the Indian Institute of Management in Coimbatore.

On another note, in the important Chennai Central constituency, Vinoj P Selvam from the BJP is challenging former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran from the DMK. Early indications suggest that Dayanidhi Maran is in the lead.

Furthermore, the triangular contest in the Nilgiris district features prominent candidates such as DMK’s A Raja, AIADMK’s Logesh Tamil Selvan, and BJP’s L Murugan looking to secure victory.
