Boston College vs. Western Kentucky: Injury Report and Viewing Options
The Boston College Eagles (3-1, 1-0 ACC) prepare to conclude their non-conference matches on a high note as they host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (3-1, 1-0 CUSA) this Saturday afternoon. Both teams, however, face challenges with key injuries affecting their line-ups, which could play a crucial role in the upcoming game.
The Eagles will be without quarterback Thomas Castellanos, who sustained an injury during their Week 4 victory over Michigan State. Castellanos, a consistent performer throughout the season, has accumulated 729 yards, ten touchdowns, and two interceptions, alongside 112 rushing yards and a touchdown. ESPN college football senior writer Pete Thamel reported that Grayson James, a transfer from Florida International University, will step in as the starting quarterback.
On the other side, Western Kentucky will miss their starting quarterback, TJ Finley, who is sidelined due to a lower leg injury encountered during their Week 3 clash against Middle Tennessee State. Head coach Tyson Helton indicated on September 16 that Finley would be out for several weeks. Caden Veltkamp is set to start his second consecutive game in Finley’s absence, having carried the team in the previous week.
Despite these setbacks, there is a glimmer of hope for Boston College with the return of running back Kye Robichaux, who is expected to play against his former team after missing most of the previous game against Michigan State due to an injury. Robichaux has been a key player, with 121 rushing yards and one touchdown so far this season.
However, running back Alex Broome will remain absent for Boston College due to a knee injury, which further complicates their offensive strategy.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. ET at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Fans can also stream the game through various platforms, taking advantage of promotional offers, including a $25 discount on initial subscription plans with Sports Extra packages offering a broad array of sports channels.
As reported by several sources, betting lines currently favor Boston College with the moneyline at -310 and a point spread set at -8. The over/under stands at 48.5, indicating potential high scoring despite the absence of key players on both sides.
