Ps5 30th Anniversary Update Themes

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand, Sony has released a special update for the PS5 that brings a wave of nostalgia to gamers. The update, available now, introduces a new start-up sequence that mimics the original PlayStation console’s boot screen, complete with the classic Sony Computer Entertainment logo and a 30th anniversary logo display.

The update allows users to customize their PS5 with themes and sounds from previous PlayStation generations, including the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. Users can select their favorite generation’s theme from the console’s settings menu under “Appearance and Sound,” which changes the dashboard’s menu colors and sound effects to match the chosen console.

Each theme is meticulously designed to reflect the look and feel of its respective console. For example, the PSOne theme adds the classic console to the home screen background, while the PS2 theme incorporates its distinctive menu shapes. The PS3 theme features its wave background, and the PS4 theme includes similar wave patterns.

Unfortunately, these themes and sounds are only available for a limited time, although Sony has not specified the exact duration of this celebration. This decision has sparked some disappointment among fans, who are urging Sony to make these themes permanent.

In addition to the update, PlayStation is also celebrating its 30th anniversary with a range of themed hardware releases, including DualSense controllers and a special PlayStation Portal. A 30th anniversary sale is also live, offering significant discounts on popular games like *Marvel’s Spider-Man*, *The Last of Us Part I*, and *Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy*.
