Quincy Washington Tree Pruning

The City of Quincy has announced an upcoming tree pruning project that will commence in November. This initiative is set to affect the city’s right of way, resulting in temporary closures of streets, sidewalks, and alleys as the necessary pruning work is carried out.

Residents are advised that workers may request vehicles parked near trees to be moved, in order to prevent any potential damage and provide crews with greater access. Additionally, any residents wishing to handle the pruning of their own trees are encouraged to contact the city at 509-787-3523 ext. 253 to arrange for their trees to be skipped during the city’s pruning schedule.

Howard Van Baugh, the Maintenance Supervisor, expressed his gratitude for the public’s understanding and cooperation while the operations are in progress.

In other local news, the Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County, Washington, is set to file its proposed budget for the year 2025 on September 10, 2024. Public comments on the proposed budget will begin on October 8, 2024, during the regularly scheduled Commission Meeting and will continue until the budget is adopted. Throughout October, public hearings will be conducted, offering ratepayers the opportunity to express their support or concerns regarding the budget.

The public hearings will be announced in a newspaper of general circulation in Grant County at least two weeks before the scheduled date, ensuring the community is well-informed of the opportunities to participate in the discussions about the budgetary allocation for the upcoming year.
