Coastal Low Pressure Rain Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A coastal low-pressure system is expected to bring rain and windy conditions to the Carolinas this weekend.

Scattered to numerous showers are likely starting Saturday and continuing into Sunday as the low-pressure system affects the area. Meteorologists report that breezy conditions will accompany the rain, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph in coastal regions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Wind Advisory, which will be in effect starting Thursday morning. Winds will shift from the northeast with sustained speeds of 10-20 mph and gusts fluctuating between 25-40 mph. These conditions may lead to higher rip currents along the coast and potential coastal flooding.

Saturday’s forecast includes cloudy skies with temperatures peaking in the mid-70s. Showers are anticipated to begin in the Crystal Coast area, spreading inland by late afternoon. Residents should prepare for wet weather throughout much of Sunday, though some drier periods may emerge.

After the weekend, warmer temperatures are expected to return next week, reaching lows in the 50s and highs in the mid-70s, alongside sunny weather.
