Congress Reveals First List Of Candidates For Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Including Rahul Gandhi And Bhupesh Baghel

Congress party recently announced the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, introducing a roster of 39 candidates, amongst prominent figures like Rahul Gandhi and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Spanning various constituencies, the list features acclaimed names securing critical battlegrounds.

The Chief of All India Congress Committee (AICC), along with party leaders, convened at the AICC headquarters in Delhi for a press conference where KC Venugopal disclosed the initial list. The candidates’ lineup comprises 15 general category, 24 SC, ST, and minority candidates, with 12 being below the age of 50.

Key features of the debut list include Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad, Bhupesh Baghel as a candidate from Rajnandgaon, and Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram. The mentions extend to promising figures like Tamradhwaj Sahu, KC Venugopal, and a UDF nominee, Anto Antony—enabling formidable campaign strategies.

Highlighting the organisational ventures of the Congress, KC Venugopal underlined the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra undertaken by the party, focusing on employment and community census, alongside the assurance of employment to 30 lakh youth. The Nyay Yatra’s culmination is reflected in a grand rally slated for March 17 in Mumbai, set to witness the participation of key leaders from the INDIA bloc.
