Donald Trump Stumbles Boarding Air Force One, Internet Reacts

Bedminster, New Jersey — President Donald Trump stumbled while boarding Air Force One on Sunday as he prepared to head to Camp David. The incident occurred shortly after heavy rainstorms passed through the area, leading to concerns about footing on the steps.
A video of Trump’s stumble quickly went viral on social media as users compared it to similar moments involving former President Joe Biden. One user remarked, “Donald Trump just tripped on the stairs of Air Force One and almost fell on his face! Where’s Jake Tapper and all the media who used to tell us every time Biden lost a step?”
Another commenter wrote, “Trump stumbles while boarding Air Force One. Joe Biden vibes or maybe characteristics of a body double.” A third person noted, “By MAGA’s rules, Trump should resign the presidency immediately.” The reactions highlighted the contrasting standards seen in reports of each president’s mishaps.
During his presidency, Trump previously had his own stumbling incidents. In February 2024, he stumbled twice while approaching Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, regaining his balance after nearly falling. Biden has also faced criticism for similar slips during his presidency.
Earlier on the same day, Trump spoke to reporters in Hagerstown, Maryland, where he was asked about the Insurrection Act in response to immigration protests in Los Angeles. When asked if he believed an insurrection was happening, Trump said, “No, no, but you have violent people. And we’re not going to let them get away with it.” He added, “We’re going to have troops everywhere. We’re not going to let this happen to our country.”
The stumble gained attention, especially given Trump’s history of mocking Biden over similar incidents during Biden’s time in office. The irony of the situation did not go unnoticed on social media, with many pointing out the past double standards related to their public moments.
