Double Homicide In Vaudreuil Dorion Leaves Community In Shock

Two women tragically lost their lives, and another was critically injured in a stabbing incident within a residential complex in Vaudreuil-Dorion, located in the Montérégie region on Thursday.

An arrest was made on-site by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers responding to a reported armed assault against multiple individuals in a building on Émile Bouchard street around 11:50 a.m.

The SQ spokesperson, Catherine Bernard, disclosed that the 44-year-old male suspect had a history of previous criminal activities known to law enforcement.

The suspect, suffering minor injuries, was taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment and is set to be questioned by investigators shortly.

At present, the nature of the relationship between the assailant and the victims remains undisclosed.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found three women severely wounded. Tragically, two adult women succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while a 70-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with grave injuries, her life hanging in the balance, as per Catherine Bernard.

The investigators from the Service des enquêtes sur les crimes contre la personne, in collaboration with the Service d’identité judiciaire, are present to investigate the crime scene meticulously and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the assault.
