Drake Kai Cenat Livestream Music Video Contest

Toronto, Canada — Popular streamer Kai Cenat and music superstar Drake will host a livestream on June 12, 2025, at 8 PM EST to review submissions for the “Somebody Loves Me” music video contest. This event coincides with Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘s concert in Toronto.

The livestream marks the climax of a contest where 20 creators will receive $15,000 each to realize their music video ideas. Participants submitted 30-second to one-minute treatments by May 24. The duo decided to postpone their originally scheduled livestream by one day due to the volume of submissions.

On Instagram, Cenat expressed gratitude to the participants: “First of all, thank you to everyone who shared their video submission for ‘Somebody Loves Me.’ We were blown away by the creativity and thought poured into each submission. We were supposed to go live today but needed a little extra time to review them,” he wrote. “Tomorrow, Drake and I gonna go through some of the submissions, share some of my favorites, and let y’all know which 20 people will get money to bring their treatments to life.”

The timing of the livestream has sparked conversations online, as it coincides with Kendrick Lamar’s two-night performance at the Rogers Centre. Social media reactions to the overlap have been mixed, with fans highlighting the irony of Drake streaming while Kendrick performs nearby.

Cenat’s involvement in the contest comes amid his unexpected legal entanglement with Universal Music Group over Drake’s prior releases. This situation adds an interesting backdrop to the livestream, as both artists continue to navigate the complexities of the music industry.

With anticipation building, the livestream promises a blend of creativity, competition, and potential drama as the winners of the “Somebody Loves Me” contest will be unveiled tonight.
