Ekin-Su Calls Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show a Wasted Opportunity

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Reality star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu criticized Meghan Markle‘s new Netflix documentary series ‘With Love, Meghan’ during an interview on Monday, suggesting the streaming service had wasted an opportunity. Cülcüloğlu, a contestant on ‘Love Island: All Stars,’ expressed her sentiments in a lighthearted yet pointed manner.

“All I can say is, what a wasted Netflix documentary! [They] could’ve given it to me,” Cülcüloğlu laughed, highlighting her opinion about the show’s content. The 30-year-old clarified her remarks were somewhat joking but added, “I’m not a huge fan [of the show].”

Cülcüloğlu noted her admiration for the British royal family but remained skeptical about the execution of Markle’s project. “I’m a huge royal family [fan], so I will back the royals, but I don’t know about the documentary myself,” she said. “I mean, I’ve seen stuff, but I haven’t watched the whole series.”

The reality TV star found certain aspects of Markle’s series “weird” and “confusing,” particularly a moment when Markle stated her last name was “Markle” and not “Sussex.” Cülcüloğlu remarked, “I don’t know if that was the right choice. So confusing.”

Questioning the overall aim of the show, she asked, “What did they want to bring out?” Cülcüloğlu reflected on the show’s content by saying, “Like, we know how to cook.” Nonetheless, she praised Markle’s talent as an actress. “She’s a very good actress! She should do ‘Suits’ again –– ‘Suits’ two. I would love to watch that. She was very good. I’d watch that,” she said.

Markle, 43, has faced mixed reviews for her series, with Cülcüloğlu’s comments among the latest opinions aired publicly. Despite some critiques, Markle has expressed excitement for the future of her show, announcing via Instagram, “Lettuce romaine calm … or not (!) because I’m so thrilled to share that Season 2 of ‘With Love, Meghan’ is coming!”
