JOHANNESBURG – Former City of Johannesburg speaker Colleen Makhubele has officially joined the uMkhonto weSizwe Party. This transition marks a significant shift in her political career.

Prior to this move, Makhubele was a member of the Congress of the People (COPE). She subsequently left COPE to establish her own political faction, known as the South African Rainbow Alliance (SARA).

Makhubele’s decision to join the MK Party aligns her with a growing list of prominent political figures who have made similar transitions. Recently, former Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Floyd Shivambu also declared his intention to join the MK Party.
