Faithful Communities in Tampa Bay Flock to Lenten Fish Fry Events
Faithful communities in Tampa Bay are coming together for the beginning of the Lenten season by participating in various fish fry events.
Local churches such as Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Raphael Catholic Parish, and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church are hosting weekly fish dinners throughout Lent.
The Knights of Columbus organizations at these churches are serving up a variety of fish options, including mahi mahi, shrimp, and fish and shrimp combos, alongside classic sides like coleslaw, fries, and hush puppies.
Other churches like St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Incarnation Catholic Church are offering meat-free Italian dinner alternatives for those observing Lent.
In addition to church events, popular restaurants in the Tampa Bay area such as Metro Diner, Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar, and The Pearl Tampa are also featuring special fish dishes for the Lenten season.
For seafood lovers, Ocean Prime, The Deep End at JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, and Crabby Bills are serving up fresh fish options like yellowtail snapper, grouper, and seafood platters.
Local bars and eateries like Seabreeze Island Grill, Irish 31 Pub House and Eatery, and The Lobby Bar at Palihouse are adding Lenten specials to their menus, including coconut fried grouper, blackened salmon, and lobster tacos.
Whether at a church event or a restaurant, Tampa Bay residents have a variety of options to observe Lent and enjoy delicious seafood throughout the season.
