Fandango’s Round Up Raises $2.5 Million for Community Initiatives
Los Angeles, CA — Fandango announced today that its Round Up feature has raised over $2.5 million from moviegoers who opted to round their ticket purchases to the nearest dollar for community-driven philanthropic initiatives. This program, which launched in January 2025, supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The donations have funded programs and created moviegoing experiences for Club members across the nation. In a new seasonal partnership, starting tomorrow, Fandango will support the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The funds raised will help advance the museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema through various educational programs, exhibitions, and screenings.
“We’re incredibly proud that Fandango users have helped raise over $2.5 million in the first year of our Round Up program for BGCA,” said Will McIntosh, president of digital platforms and ventures at Versant. “Advancing accessibility to film is central to our mission, and we are excited to partner with the Academy Museum to further their work in film preservation and education.”
The partnership will sustain film programs and initiatives, including family matinees and a Teen Council designed to inspire young artists from diverse communities. Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum, expressed gratitude towards Fandango for its support, stating, “Their essential support will make a meaningful impact in moving the museum’s mission forward.”
Fandango’s Round Up feature gives users a straightforward way to contribute to important causes while enjoying cinema. Following the end of this seasonal partnership in March 2026, Fandango plans to return to supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, allowing for ongoing access to free moviegoing experiences for Club kids.
