Fitness Influencer Chris O’Donnell Dies by Suicide at 31
PHOENIX, Ariz. — Chris O'Donnell, a fitness influencer known online as Creeohdee, died on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the age of 31. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner confirmed to PEOPLE that O’Donnell’s death was ruled a suicide, resulting from a gunshot wound to the head.
O’Donnell, who amassed over 842,000 followers on TikTok and 241,000 on Instagram, was celebrated for his fitness content and candid discussions about mental health and sobriety. His last TikTok post, a seven-minute video from his brother’s wedding, captured a heartfelt moment he described as “one of my proudest moments as a brother.”
In a November 2024 Instagram post, O’Donnell reflected on his legacy, questioning how he would be remembered. “I wonder when I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I’m lying in the dirt, if you’d remember my face,” he wrote alongside footage of his hikes and offroading adventures.
O’Donnell was open about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, sharing in a December 2022 post that he had been sober since 2018. “I have been outspoken about mental health since high school, in the hopes it will help others along their own path,” he wrote. “I also got sober in 2018 and have been an advocate for substance abuse awareness ever since.”
Kevin Clevenger, a friend who goes by ironsanctuary on social media, paid tribute to O’Donnell on TikTok, writing, “One day I’ll find peace in knowing you’re not in pain anymore, but today my heart aches that you’re gone. I love you.” Fans also flooded O’Donnell’s social media with messages of grief and gratitude, with one follower noting, “Chris, may you rest beautifully now. You mattered to many.”
