Five Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass: Players Warned to Act Fast

REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft announced that five games will exit Xbox Game Pass on May 31, 2025. Gamers interested in these titles should play them quickly before they are removed from the subscription service.
The games include Cassette Beasts, Humanity, Remnant 2, Slayer X: Terminal Afterthought: Vengeance of the Slayer, and Firework, which is specifically leaving the PC Game Pass. These titles have gained attention, with Remnant 2 being highlighted as a notable third-person shooter that has impressed players since its launch.
Gunfire Games‘ Remnant 2, available on Game Pass since November 2023, has been highly rated, achieving an 86% approval rating from professional reviewers and 80% from players on OpenCritic. It allows players to choose from 14 character classes, ensuring varied gameplay experiences.
Cassette Beasts has also received acclaim as one of the best indie games in recent years, while players have noted the enjoyment found in puzzle platformer Humanity and the retro FPS Slayers X. The impending removal of these games has left some fans disappointed.
Microsoft frequently updates its Game Pass library, cycling out older titles to make room for new arrivals. The latest announcement includes a list of games with a promise of at least a 20% discount on the departing titles. The new lineup will include games such as The Alters, launching on June 13, as well as Lost in Random: The Eternal Die on June 17.
Players urged to try the departing games should act quickly, as the deadline approaches. The digital games market remains competitive, and new titles are continually introduced, keeping the gaming experience fresh.
