Former NSW Minister Andrew Constance Chosen as Liberal Candidate for Gilmore
Former senior NSW Minister and small manufacturing business director, Andrew Constance, has been preselected as the Liberal candidate for Gilmore.
Constance expressed his gratitude to the local Liberal members, highlighting his commitment to standing with the community during challenging times and advocating for their needs. He emphasized the importance of listening, advocating, and solving problems for individuals and the community.
He criticized the Albanese Labor Government for the current cost of living crisis affecting households and small businesses in Gilmore, stating his intention to champion regional economic stimulation through strategic infrastructure investment.
Constance outlined key focuses if elected, including funding critical infrastructure projects like the Princes Highway duplication, supporting industries such as defense, small business, and tourism, and boosting apprenticeships and job training opportunities.
Highlighting economic concerns, he noted that Australia is experiencing high inflation, leading to multiple interest rate hikes and financial strain on households. Constance accused the current government of broken promises on electricity and gas prices.
Citing a track record of unfulfilled pledges and negative impacts on Gilmore, Constance criticized opposition leader, Anthony Albanese, accusing him of dishonesty and questionable policy intentions.
Asserting that Gilmore has regressed under Labor, Constance emphasized the Liberal Party’s record of delivering lower power prices, interest rates, and taxes. He pledged to campaign for essential services and infrastructure improvements for the community’s progress.
