Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2025: Anticipation Builds for the Racing Season Opener
The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2025 is set to return to Albert Park in Melbourne, scheduled to take place from Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16. The event marks the opening race of the new season and has generated significant excitement among motorsport enthusiasts.
Tickets for this prestigious event will be available for the general public starting Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Fans who are part of the Ticketmaster Ballot Presale will have the opportunity to purchase tickets a day earlier, on Monday, October 7. The anticipation for the event is high, especially with the race returning to its prominent position as the first race of the season.
In a notable development, Australian driver Jack Doohan will make his full-time Formula 1 debut with Alpine. Doohan has served as the team’s reserve driver since 2023, and his father, Mick Doohan, is a renowned five-time motorcycling World Champion. Additionally, Lewis Hamilton will make his first appearance for Ferrari at Melbourne’s iconic track, having announced his departure from Mercedes earlier this year.
Oscar Piastri, fresh off his recent victories at the Hungarian Grand Prix and in Azerbaijan, will aim for success on home soil. Ticket prices for the race start at $45 for a Thursday Park Pass, while Grandstand tickets begin at $125. Children under 14 can attend for free on Thursday, or for all four days with a paying adult for just $25.
The demand for tickets is expected to be high, especially following the record-breaking attendance in 2024. The Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO, Travis Auld, commented on the event’s significance, stating, “We are counting the days to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2025, particularly the debut of Jack Doohan at his home race, Lewis Hamilton in the red of Ferrari, and Oscar Piastri vying for a podium in front of Aussie fans.”
Fans are encouraged to book their seats early as tickets in recent years have sold out rapidly. The Melbourne race promises to be an electrifying start to the 2025 Formula 1 season.
