Fortnite Downtime for Chapter 2 Remix: Here’s What You Need to Know
Fortnite players are preparing for an extended period of server downtime as Epic Games readies the launch of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix. This downtime is scheduled to begin at 2 AM Eastern Time (ET) on November 2, 2024, with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.
The downtime is expected to last significantly longer than usual, with Epic Games hinting that it could extend for around 7 hours. This prolonged maintenance period is due to the substantial update that will reset the current Chapter 5 map and gameplay, reintroducing elements from Chapter 2, including weapons, skins, and vehicles.
For players in different time zones, the downtime will correspond to 6:00 AM UTC, 11:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on November 1, and 7:00 AM Central European Time (CET) on November 2. Servers are anticipated to be back online by around 9 AM ET.
This update also includes new content such as the Reload Solos game mode, a single-player version of the Reload game mode, and new items in the Fortnite Shop, including variations of popular Chapter 2 cosmetics.
Players are advised to check the Epic Games Status website or the @FortniteStatus Twitter feed for the latest updates on server status and any other issues related to the downtime.
