Genshin Impact Version 5.4 Introduces New Character Mizuki and Gameplay Enhancements
SHANGHAI, China — Genshin Impact‘s upcoming Version 5.4 update, set to launch on February 12, 2025, will introduce a new five-star Anemo character, Mizuki, alongside significant quality-of-life improvements aimed at enhancing the player experience. The update continues HoYoverse‘s commitment to frequent updates, with new versions typically released every 45 days.
Mizuki, a clinical psychologist and descendant of the yumekui-baku, a dream-eating youkai, brings a unique skill set to the game. Her banner will be available during Phase 1 of Version 5.4, running until March 5, 2025. Players can increase their chances of obtaining Mizuki by collecting Intertwined Fates through events, Spiral Abyss completions, and Archon Quests.
In addition to the new character, Version 5.4 will introduce several gameplay enhancements. The Training Guide will receive an upgrade, allowing players to create a Level-Up Plan to streamline character development. A new Recommended Secondary Attributes function will help players quickly identify suitable weapons for their characters, while an Auto Add feature for Refinement Levels will simplify weapon upgrades.
One of the most anticipated changes, set for Version 5.5, involves the Sanctifying Elixir. This item will guarantee that when used on an artifact, at least two sub-stats will receive enhancements when leveled up to 20. HoYoverse plans to monitor this feature closely and may make adjustments based on player feedback.
“Many players, especially new Travelers, can often get lost in the process of obtaining the right items,” HoYoverse stated in a Developers Discussion. “These changes aim to make character-building more intuitive and enjoyable.”
Genshin Impact, which launched in September 2020, continues to expand its world of Teyvat with new characters, regions, and gameplay mechanics. The game is available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and mobile devices, and supports cross-platform play.
