Global McDonald’s Outage Impacts Australia and Several Other Countries
McDonald's restaurants across Australia are currently facing a significant challenge as they are unable to process payments due to an apparent global outage impacting the fast-food chain’s internal systems.
A spokesperson from McDonald’s Australia acknowledged the issue, stating that the company is actively working to resolve the problem. They expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their patience during this time.
While some McDonald’s outlets in Australia are still accepting cash payments, the outage has also affected the MyMacca’s app. Reports indicate that certain restaurants have resorted to turning customers away, and there have been instances where staff have been sent home.
Interestingly, this technical disruption is not limited to Australia alone, as McDonald’s restaurants in several other countries are also grappling with similar issues. Stores in the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, China, South Korea, Germany, and Japan have reported closures and payment processing challenges.
Updating on the situation, McDonald’s Japan confirmed via their social media account about a “system failure” affecting their stores. They expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused to customers and requested patience until the service is restored.
