Princess Kate to Extend Absence from Royal Duties During Cancer Treatment
Princess Kate Middleton is anticipated to prolong her break from official engagements as she continues her cancer treatment, according to a report in the Times of London.
The 42-year-old Princess announced her cancer diagnosis in March after undergoing preventative chemotherapy following the discovery of cancerous tissue during surgery in January.
She and Prince William, who share three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, decided to inform the public about her condition after informing their children first.
In a video statement, Princess Kate described the diagnosis as a ‘huge shock’ and stated that she and Prince William are managing the situation privately for the well-being of their young family.
Prince William, who has been updating on the family’s well-being, mentioned that they are all doing well, with him also fulfilling his own public duties while supporting Kate’s recovery.
The Times of London hinted that Princess Kate may return to engagements ‘when she feels able to,’ indicating a flexible approach to her royal duties during this period.
Prince William has been occasionally standing in for his father, King Charles III, who is also undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, adding to the family’s health challenges.
