LOS ANGELES, April 22, 2025 — Insta360 has unveiled its latest action camera, the X5, designed to enhance content creation for adventurers and vloggers alike. The flagship device offers significant upgrades, including user-replaceable lenses, bigger sensors, and improved low-light capabilities.

The X5 is now available for $549.99, with an essentials bundle priced at $659.99. Insta360 aims to streamline the user experience, allowing creators to easily share high-quality video content on social media.

Key features of the X5 include dual 1/1.28-inch sensors that capture more light, improving low-light performance drastically. According to Insta360 Founder JK Liu, “X5 redefines 360° cameras by solving creators’ real challenges.” This new model is equipped with a PureVideo mode that employs AI technology for noise reduction and dynamic range optimization, ensuring clear footage in challenging lighting conditions.

In addition to the enhanced video recording options, the X5 records from 8K at 30 frames per second (fps) to 5.7K at 60 fps. The camera also supports 4K recording at 120 fps for details in high-motion shots. Users are promised longer battery life, with up to 185 minutes available when shooting in power-saving mode.

The camera’s replaceable lens system is made from new ultra-durable glass, reducing concerns over lens damage during extreme activities. Insta360 is offering a replacement lens kit for $29.99, making maintenance easier than ever.

New user-friendly features streamline the recording process. The InstaFrame mode allows users to capture both a standard video and a full 360-degree clip simultaneously. The X5 also comes with a Twist to Shoot feature, which enables users to start recording by twisting the selfie stick, perfect for hard-to-reach angles.

With an improved IP68 waterproof rating, the X5 can withstand submersion up to 49 feet. Enhancements in audio quality are addressed with a built-in wind guard that minimizes noise interference during recording.

The upgraded Insta360 app also includes a one-tap dewarp tool, enhancing usability by correcting fisheye effects in footage. Alongside, new Quick Edit and AI Edit modes promise faster post-production for users.

The Insta360 X5 is set to compete against other brands in the action camera market, with innovative features that could appeal to both seasoned content creators and casual users. Industry insiders suggest that the camera is poised to become a favorite for adventurous filmmakers.
