Jane Fonda Virtual Reality Fitness Workout

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jane Fonda has officially stepped into the virtual reality fitness world with a new series that pays tribute to her classic ’80s workout routines. The series, created for the fitness subscription service Supernatural exclusive to Metaquest, allows users to engage in workouts that mirror her original VHS tapes.

Fonda, 85, shared her excitement for the project through social media, posting behind-the-scenes images that showcase a studio reminiscent of the one she used during the filming of her Original Workout videos. “I had so much fun creating these workouts, and it was supernatural to be in a studio that looked just like the studio where I filmed my Original Workout videos,” she captioned her post, emphasizing her nostalgic journey.

The new VR classes include various formats such as ‘Flow with Jane Fonda’, ‘Box with Jane Fonda & Ludacris‘, ‘Jane Fonda: Stretching’, and ‘Jane Fonda: Team Workout’. Fonda reassured potential participants who may be hesitant about using VR technology. “Going from VHS to VR, I was surprised by how easy Supernatural was to pick up,” she said. “We really bridged the past and future of fitness with this series.”

Reflecting on her past success, Fonda expressed her desire to make fitness more accessible through these videos. “After the videos came out, I’d get amazing letters from around the world,” she recalled. One letter came from a young woman in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, who exercised in her mud hut, while another individual wrote about discovering new muscles as a result of the workouts.

Fonda also emphasized the importance of variety in a fitness routine, stating, “I work out every day, so it is important to mix up the way I move. I alternate days doing upper body and lower body work for strength. I also find some way to get cardio in. Walking outside is one of my favorite ways to do so.”

Although she didn’t foresee the cultural phenomenon her original workout videos would become, Fonda now sees potential for her new VR series to resonate with audiences just as strongly. “I had no idea [my] videos were going to become such a phenomenon,” she said, hinting at the possibilities of this next chapter in fitness.
