Kris Boyd Shooting Incident New York Jets

NEW YORK, NY — New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot in Midtown Manhattan early Sunday morning. The shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on West 38th Street, near Seventh Avenue, police confirmed.

According to sources, the 29-year-old Boyd was shot in the abdomen outside Sei Less restaurant following a dispute that escalated to violence. Two shots were fired by the assailant, who fled the scene in a BMW X8 SUV. Witnesses at the scene have reportedly been uncooperative with law enforcement, complicating the investigation.

Boyd fought for consciousness before being transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he is currently receiving urgent medical care. Hospital sources indicate he is listed in critical but stable condition. Police have not made any arrests or disclosed the identity of the shooter, as investigations are ongoing.

Boyd, a 5-foot-11 defensive back, is in his first season with the Jets after previous stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Houston Texans. He joined the Jets this year but is currently on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury sustained during a preseason game.

The Jets team is not scheduled to play today following a loss to the New England Patriots last Thursday, and they are focusing on Boyd’s recovery. A spokesperson for the Jets did not respond to requests for comment on the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting continues, with detectives reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence. The motive for the shooting remains unclear as police work to identify suspects.
