Kelsea Ballerini Concert Fan Behavior Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Kelsea Ballerini halted her concert on February 23 to address fan behavior following inappropriate comments aimed at her ex-husband, Morgan Evans. During her performance of the song ‘Penthouse,’ which deals with her past relationship, audience members began shouting obscenities directed at Evans.

As Ballerini sang the lyrics, ‘It hurts putting s–t in a box / And now we don’t talk / And it stings rolling up the welcome mat / Knowing you got half,’ some fans took liberties with the lyrics, reportedly yelling, ‘F You Morgan’ after a pause in the song. Prompted by this disruption, Ballerini paused her performance to address the crowd.

‘Guys, we have to stop saying that,’ she remarked, in a video shared online the following day. ‘Seriously, we’re three years past it; everything’s fine now. I sing the song for you now; it’s not about me anymore, please.’

This isn’t the first time Ballerini has modified her performance of ‘Penthouse’ since its February 2023 release. Last August, she altered the lyrics to reflect her growth since the breakup, singing, ‘I kissed someone new last night / But now I don’t care where you’re sleeping, baby,’ emphasizing her move towards healing.

In confirming her emotional recovery, she also noted her new relationship with actor Chase Stokes, which began in early 2023. ‘I’m happy,’ she told an interviewer in October, discussing her romance. ‘Everything is as it should.’ Ballerini is open to the possibility of marriage in the future. ‘I would never say never to anything,’ she stated, reflecting a more optimistic outlook.

Following the slight reprimand of her audience, Ballerini invited fans to join her in singing the remainder of ‘Penthouse.’ ‘Alright, for everyone that’s moving forward with their life, will you sing this with me?’ she encouraged, refocusing the show on collective enjoyment.

Ballerini’s tour continues with her next performance scheduled for February 26 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Stops in several cities, including Seattle, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, will follow, culminating in a finale at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on April 13. The singer is currently promoting her latest releases, emphasizing a journey toward healing and emotional growth.
