LOS ANGELES, CA — Khloé Kardashian shared her emotional journey while supporting ex-husband Lamar Odom during his recovery from a near-fatal overdose in a recent episode of her Hulu show.
In an episode that aired on February 13, Kardashian, 40, confronted Odom, 45, at a Nevada legal brothel, vividly recalling the struggles they faced during his months-long hospitalization. “It is his fault he couldn’t speak because he decided to do naughty things somewhere he shouldn’t have done them,” she expressed, addressing the complexities surrounding his overdose.
Kardashian attempted to clarify Odom’s statement regarding his drug use, saying, “What Lamar is trying to say is when he went to the brothel he didn’t take drugs and he doesn’t recall taking them. I think it is a fact that he did overdose but he is implying that someone drugged him.”
The couple’s relationship has been tumultuous; they married just one month after meeting in 2009 and later faced significant challenges due to Odom’s substance abuse. Their reality TV show, “Khloé & Lamar,” showcased their relationship during its early stages, but by 2013, Kardashian filed for divorce, which she later postponed following Odom’s overdose in 2015 that left him in a coma.
Reflecting on those critical moments, Kardashian recounted, “You were in a coma for three days. I was there the second you were there,” detailing how she navigated the trauma alongside Odom’s family, including a harrowing moment when they discussed pulling the plug on his life support.
“I didn’t leave you for four months. I got a staph infection because I lived in a hospital,” she revealed. Upon being released from the hospital herself, Kardashian took to social media to discuss her own health struggles, attributing her staph infection to the stress of Odom’s condition. “Mine was exacerbated by stress which is not a great combo. I’m under great medical care & receiving tons of love!” she shared.
Kardashian also spoke about how her mental health suffered due to the circumstances. “I had such anxiety going to the gym, but as soon as I left, and Kendall [Jenner] and I worked out with my trainer, I felt like, ‘Oh my God, I’m OK. I’m a human again!’”
In the show, Khloé highlighted the deep affection she still holds for Odom, stating, “Lamar was and is definitely someone that I felt was the love of my life.” Despite the emotional turmoil, she acknowledged, “I know there were bigger things that were not fixable in that marriage.”
Odom, during the confrontation, expressed remorse for the pain he caused Kardashian. “I put you through a lot,” he admitted. “I f—-d up with you. I love you for trying your hardest with me. That love will never go away, I know it won’t.”
The Kardashians series continues to delve into the lives of its stars, revealing the personal and often challenging experiences that shape their world. New episodes air every Thursday on Hulu.
