Kid Rock to Perform at Trump Inauguration, Celebrates ‘Rebirth of Nation’
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Music legend Kid Rock is set to perform at President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration, following his energetic appearance at the MAGA Victory Rally on Sunday. The rocker, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, kicked off his set at the Capital One Arena with a rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama” and later performed his 2022 anthem “We The People,” which calls for unity and patriotism.
“It feels like the rebirth of our nation,” Kid Rock told hosts on “Fox & Friends Weekend” ahead of the rally. He described a palpable shift in energy across the country, particularly in Washington, D.C., and Hollywood, since Trump’s election victory in November. “There’s just this overwhelming sense … you’ve heard it a million times, that America’s back,” he added.
Kid Rock, a longtime Trump supporter, also noted the changing attitudes in Hollywood, where celebrities have become more vocal in their support for the president-elect. “Now they feel it’s safe to go in the water after dipping their toe in it for four to eight years,” he joked. “Better to have them on board than not.”
Joining Kid Rock at the inauguration will be country superstar Carrie Underwood, who expressed her honor at being asked to perform. “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement. Jason Aldean, another Trump supporter, will also perform at the Liberty Ball.
Trump has further solidified his ties to Hollywood by naming actors Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight as his “special ambassadors” to the entertainment industry. All three have publicly supported Trump, with Voight attending Sunday’s rally.
Kid Rock emphasized the widespread optimism among Trump supporters, saying, “[People] saw what he did the first time. And when you really look at the facts and the numbers and how great it was, and it’s only going to be better from there.” He added that even reasonable Democrats are beginning to recognize the potential for progress under Trump’s leadership.
The rocker’s performance at the rally and his upcoming inauguration appearance underscore his continued support for Trump, whom he has backed since the 2016 campaign. Kid Rock previously performed at the Republican National Convention in July, further cementing his role as a prominent figure in Trump’s political and cultural orbit.
