Las Vegas Weather Wind Advisory

Las Vegas is experiencing a significant change in weather, with a Wind Advisory in effect until early Wednesday morning. According to KTNV, southwest gusts up to 40 mph are expected, leading to concerns about blowing dust and crosswinds for high-profile vehicles.

The current weather forecast indicates that the city will wake up to temperatures in the low 70s on Tuesday, with highs limited to the upper 70s despite a mostly sunny sky. However, a midnight cold front will bring northwest winds, dropping temperatures into the 50s by nightfall. Tuesday morning is expected to be breezy and cold, with afternoon highs only reaching the upper 60s.

There is a 20% chance of showers on Tuesday night and a slim 10% chance lingering into Tuesday. The weather is expected to calm down by Wednesday, with temperatures rising to the mid 60s in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. For Halloween, residents can expect low 70s with sunshine and quiet winds under 10 mph, although temperatures will dip into the mid 60s after sunset.

In addition to the local weather, a broader weather system is affecting the region. A strong cold front is pushing through the Intermountain West and Four Corners, bringing heavy snow to the Rockies and gusty winds. This system also has the potential for heavy rainfall and flash flooding in parts of the central and southern High Plains.

For the rest of the week, Las Vegas can expect mild weather to return, with temperatures climbing 5-10 degrees above average into the mid-to-upper 80s by Thursday. High pressure will dominate the weather, resulting in warm and dry conditions. However, precipitation remains scarce, with the last measurable rain recorded on July 13th.
