Lieutenant Dan Joseph Malinowski Criminal Record

Lieutenant Dan, whose real name is Joseph Malinowski, has garnered significant attention recently for his defiance in the face of Hurricane Milton, refusing to leave his sailboat despite evacuation warnings. However, his newfound internet fame has also brought his extensive and troubled criminal history to light.

Malinowski, a 54-year-old amputee, has been involved in numerous criminal incidents. One of the most recent and severe charges against him includes an allegation of attempting to set a woman on fire in February 2023. According to documents from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Malinowski argued with a woman on an outdoor bench, poured gasoline on the bench, and set it on fire, also splashing the woman with gasoline. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

In addition to this incident, Malinowski’s criminal record includes charges for battery against a police officer, drug possession, attempted breaking and entering, and failure to transfer ownership of a vessel. He has also been arrested for failing to appear in court for an arraignment related to one of his cases.

Despite these serious allegations, Malinowski has gained a significant following online, with many praising his perceived bravery during the hurricane. A GoFundMe campaign set up to support his “seafaring dreams” has raised over $46,000, and he has even been offered a deal by streamer Adin Ross to join the platform Kick and receive a new boat.

Malinowski has responded to the controversy surrounding his past, stating in a TikTok video that he never asked for the help and that others should have done their “due diligence” on him before offering support.
