Metro Detroit Winter Snowstorm 2025

Metro Detroit residents are facing the coldest morning of the week, with air temperatures ranging from zero to 10 degrees and subzero wind chills north of M-59. The biting cold, combined with wind chills, has made this one of the most frigid mornings of the season so far.

According to WDIV ClickOnDetroit meteorologist Ashlee Baracy, sunshine will start the day, but clouds are expected to increase later this afternoon as another snow system approaches. Highs today will reach the mid-20s, though it will feel like the teens due to the wind chill. Sunset is at 5:20 p.m., marking a short day for outdoor activities.

A widespread light snow event is forecast for Friday afternoon and evening, with one to two inches of accumulation expected as a cold front moves through the region. Another round of light snow is possible Sunday afternoon into Monday, potentially creating slick conditions for the start of the workweek as a secondary front pushes through. Weekend highs will hover around 30 degrees.

By the middle of next week, another surge of arctic air is expected to bring temperatures back down, with highs falling into the low 20s. Residents are advised to bundle up and limit time outdoors to avoid the dangerous cold.
