Xbox Playstation 5 And Nintendo Switch 2 Gaming Console

REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft plans to release several Xbox games on the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 later this year, according to a report from The Verge. Senior editor Tom Warren revealed that 2025 will feature numerous titles making their way to rival platforms, following the recent announcement of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle set to launch on PS5 on April 15.

The move aims to broaden the reach of Xbox’s gaming portfolio and enhance accessibility for players across different consoles. Warren noted that previous Xbox-exclusive titles like Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush have already launched on rival systems, and this trend will continue with the release of more games this year. “I originally revealed last year that Microsoft was considering a PS5 release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, ahead of Bethesda’s announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August,” he stated.

While Microsoft has not officially confirmed which specific titles will be available on the new systems, speculation suggests that popular games such as Starfield and the next entry in the Fable series could make their debut on the Switch 2 and PS5.

As Warren indicated, “2025 will include a lot more titles appearing on both PS5 and Nintendo’s Switch 2.” The potential for a multiplatform launch of Fable has increased with reports suggesting that development for other console versions has already begun.

Additionally, the substantial updates expected for Starfield, alongside its initial mixed reception, could enhance its appeal on new platforms. Earlier in the year, Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Gaming CEO, expressed optimism about the Switch 2. “I’m really excited about the Switch 2 and Xbox’s multiplatform releases going forward,” he said, hinting at the possibility of more first-party IPs transitioning to the new console.

The forthcoming titles will include entries from Bethesda and Activision’s catalogs such as DOOM: The Dark Ages. Warren emphasized the strategic shift of Xbox, moving away from competing solely in hardware to expanding its software to include multiple formats in a rapidly evolving gaming landscape.

As announcements unfold, the industry watches closely to see which Xbox games will join the roster of titles on the Nintendo Switch 2, slated for reveal in an upcoming Nintendo Direct on April 2.
