Microsoft Unveils Gears of War: Reloaded for Multiple Platforms

SEATTLE, Wash. — Microsoft has announced the upcoming release of “Gears of War: Reloaded,” a remaster of the original game. The title will launch on August 26, 2025, and will be available on Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and PC, priced at $39.99.
“Gears of War: Reloaded is a celebration of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises,” Microsoft said in a statement. The remaster will feature 4K resolution, support for 120 frames per second, and comprehensive multiplayer capabilities, including cross-progression and cross-play across all platforms.
Players can expect the remaster to include all content from the “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.” Upon release, gamers will gain immediate access to all post-launch downloadable content at no additional cost, which includes the bonus Campaign act, multiplayer maps, modes, and a roster of classic characters and cosmetics that can be unlocked through gameplay.
The campaign will support two-player co-op, while the multiplayer mode can host up to eight players. Additionally, any gamers who purchased the “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” digitally before the announcement will be eligible to receive “Reloaded” as a free upgrade.
Last year, Microsoft also teased a new installment in the Gears franchise, details of which are awaited in the future.
